But I do not foresee living on air and light. The Bhuddists have a system called Dana. It is about giving. One voluntarily gives money to support things in the community one wishes to have continue. It is not so different from the Christian tradition of supporting a church. My parents and grandparents went to church regularly, and gave to their churches. That’s not true for me, and I think it is not the case for many people my generation and younger. Many of us look to the arts for our spiritual lives.
